This page is under construction but if you would like to view my latest project pictures this is the place to be just click here for the GALLERY. I am going to detail the build and provide some tips and links on this build, more later, enjoy the pics...

This build started in November of 2004, I started gathering parts to build a new computer to replace my old 500mhz machine. Low prices on parts at Thanksgiving time made my decision to start easier. I bought a 250gig Western Digital hard drive from BestBuy for $60.00 after mail in rebates which I despise but I couldn't pass up that deal so I was out there at 4:00 am with the rest of the deal shoppers waiting for the mad rush. I managed to get that and a 17" monitor for $50.00.

I started looking around later after Christmas for more deals and found some good ones on NewEgg.com. I first started checking cases and power supplies. I found Thermaltake´s web site and settled on a black Tsunami case. Beautiful case, clear panel, plenty of room, easy to work on. I loved the slide out HD tray as I ended up with 4 drives a 250g, 120g, and 2ea - 74g 10,000 rpm Raptors (all Western Digital). I added 2 Nec 3420 Dual layer DVD's, a Thermaltake Hardcano13 fan controller/card reader. I installed 2 floppies, don't ask me why, I had 'em laying around so I stuck them in to fill up space, only one is hooked up.

I decided on an ASUS A8V Deluxe after considerable research, my old 500mhz AMD machine had an ASUS and never a glitch, very dependable after 10 years of use. Then the processor of choice of course was an AMD64 3500+ 64bit Winchester core CPU. I can't remember when I last used an Intel CPU, always seems like AMD outperforms the Intel's but thats a subject for someone else to discuss all I know is I prefer AMD.

Well let's see what else was there...oh, RAM I ended up with 2gb of Corsair....to be continued....
